The CMU Guest Account, also known as the temporary user account, is intended for individuals who are not affiliated with Chiang Mai University but need to access the university's wireless network. This service is available to visitors and individuals contacting the university.
There are two forms of the temporary user account service available:
- The first type of temporary user account is the CMU Guest Account, which allows users to determine the length of service time required. To create an account, users can contact the Information Technology Service Center, and organizations can submit a document specifying the exact period of service required. Please note that service rates are based on the announcement made on July 3, 2019
- The second type of temporary user account is the CMU Guest Account, which is issued by the university faculty or department. This account has a usage limit of 31 days from the time of distribution, and users can utilize it for a maximum of 300 days. The faculty or department that issued the temporary guest pass is responsible for keeping the document that verifies the guest's identity, according to the Computer Crime Act 2007, for at least 90 days in compliance with Thailand's laws
Users who receive a Guest Account must maintain the confidentiality of their account and password. They are accountable for all activities and actions performed using the account and must adhere strictly to the laws and regulations of Chiang Mai University.
